Educational Programs in Collaboration (EPiC)

What is the EPiC Consortium?

The EPiC Consortium creates an innovative pathway for community colleges to offer valuable certificate and degree programs to their communities at minimal institutional cost. By joining forces with other Michigan community colleges, we share program expenses equally among participating institutions, making it possible to sustain high-quality education in specialized fields that might otherwise be financially challenging to maintain.

This collaborative approach is further strengthened through fiscal agent support provided by the Michigan Workforce Training and Education Collaborative (MWTEC), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization. MWTEC's involvement ensures transparent financial management and adds another layer of sustainability to the consortium model.

Together, we:

  • Preserve important but traditionally lower-enrolled programs that meet critical community needs

  • Make specialized education accessible to students throughout Michigan

  • Maximize each college's resources through meaningful partnerships

  • Create sustainable pathways to careers that strengthen local economies

  • Benefit from professional nonprofit fiscal oversight and administration

Through EPiC, Michigan colleges can expand educational opportunities while maintaining financial stability—proving that when community colleges work together, with support from dedicated nonprofit partners like MWTEC, everyone benefits.
